This is a community submission by At The Helm, a project providing a diverse range of creative events for people of all ages in and around Kirkby Stephen this summer. In response to the difficult times we have all been living through, At the Helm has encouraged people to reconnect creatively with the community and celebrate who and where they are by offering a range of guided walks, outdoor theatre and music experiences, as well as dance, writing, cooking and movement workshops. 

We have created this collage from photographic memories old and new, conversations past and present, to celebrate the special bonds of the Upper Eden community, and to connect individuals through shared artistic experiences. Inspired by the indomitable Lady Anne Clifford, members of the community journeyed through the same picturesque lanes and rugged rolling fells that she travelled in the 17th century; providing their own contribution to this collaborative piece of art.
