The Team at Tullie House have been a crucial part of the development of Artful Ways and the amazing gallery at Tullie House will be the location for the launch of the Artful Ways exhibition. Tullie House is right in the heart of Carlisle’s historic quarter, and on the border of England and Scotland. It’s an award-winning museum and gallery, and one of the region’s most popular attractions.
The gallery offers a perfect place for the Artful Ways exhibition, which will be staged alongside the New Light Art Prize show – a wonderful twinning. The gallery is one of the largest purpose-built galleries in the north of England and has a justifiable reputation for hosting excellent shows. What a place to celebrate creativity and bring together artwork from people across Cumbria!
The team at Tullie will be working with the local community to explore Carlisle’s historic quarter, from the castle to the cathedral and beyond, taking in some of the city’s beautiful inner city green spaces. They’ll be linking with young people, and with members and carers connected with Carlisle Mencap. Community and Young Person’s Coordinator Lindsey Atkinson has got some brilliant plans for getting creative, which will be revealed over the summer.
