Commissioned Artists Talk
We had a packed ‘online’ house for our evening with the Artful Ways commissioned artists. If you weren’t able to make it, or you’d like to watch it again, you can! Thanks to Amy from Cumbria Arts and Culture Network, the full session is now available on YouTube here.
The evening lasted one hour. Each of the five commissioned artists shared 4 slides in a quick-fire summary of their work, and this was followed with a discussion about motivation, challenges, themes and surprises along the way, and answers to the questions posed by the audience through the chat. It gave a good sense of their five very different practices, and the breadth of interpretation of the Artful Ways project themes of Creativity, Connection and Place.
It’s always an organisational feat to get people together and having the online space made that relatively easy, although Lorna joined us from her van while she is away in the Scottish Highlands – which is why she appears a little shady!
Tune in to find out more from Alex Jakob-Whitworth, Anne Waggot Knott, Lorna Singleton, Rachel Capovila and Rosie Galloway-Smith. And if you’d like to find out more about the artists’ work, visit the commissions page here.
